Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Sunny processes and how it is used in order to provide personalized daily affirmations, reminders, and related features.
Sunny is primarily designed to run on your device. The app may store the following information locally on your phone or tablet:
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your email address or other direct personal identifiers from within the app. Any name or preferences you enter stay on your device (backed up via your platform's standard app data backup, if enabled) and are not sent to us.
Sunny ships with a curated library of affirmations, refreshed periodically with new affirmations generated using a third-party AI provider. To do this, the app sends a generic request (the topic categories to write about, such as "motivation" or "self-love") through our own server-side proxy, which forwards it to the AI provider and returns the generated text. This request does not include your name, onboarding answers, or any other personal information — only the topic categories are sent.
To keep this feature reliable and prevent abuse, the app authenticates to our proxy using an anonymous, device-level identifier (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication). This identifier is not linked to your name or any other personal information and is used solely to apply reasonable usage limits.
Purchases and subscriptions for Sunny are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by us. We do not receive your full payment details, such as credit card numbers. Billing and payment information is handled under the App Store or Google Play privacy policies and terms.
If you enable daily reminders, Sunny schedules them locally on your device to show an affirmation at the times you choose. These reminders are generated and delivered entirely on-device and are not sent from a remote server.
If you add the Sunny widget to your Home or Lock Screen, the app mirrors your personalized affirmation feed (and your name, if you've provided one) into a storage area shared between the app and the widget on your device, so the widget can display content without needing network access of its own. This data stays on your device.
Sunny does not currently use analytics or crash-reporting services, and we do not track your activity in the app for advertising purposes. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, AI providers, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes are made means you accept the revised policy.
